#JusticeForUwa: Nigerians Hit Out At Pastor Adeboye For RCCG's 'Silence' On Murdered Lady

Some Nigerians on social media are furious at Pastor Enoch Adeboye, the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for what they perceive as silence from his church regarding Uwavera Omozuwa, a 22-year-old student who was allegedly raped and murdered in a RCCG church in Edo state.

AllNews reports that the family of the deceased said they received a call from a woman at the RCCG on Wednesday evening about 'Uwa' battling for her life.

Uwavera was taken to hospital after a security guard found her, her skirt torn and her shirt covered in blood, the deceased's sister, Judith Omozuwa told the BBC.

Uwavera had only just been admitted to the University of Benin (UNIBEN) to study microbiology when she was killed.

Although, the police in Edo State say they are already on the matter, RCCG is yet to issue any statement on the issue as at the time of publishing this report.

On Twitter, some Nigerians expressed concern about the perceived silence from Adeboye's RCCG since the sad news hit the cyber space last week.

So the life of papa is more important than that of Tina?

My own is that, is Pastor Adeboye aware that a lady was murdered and raped in one of his churches or these are part of things he shldnt be concerned with

Praying for their GO is not bad! However considering the death of Uwa, raped and killed brutally in one of the church branches and till now, no press release from the church. This might makes one to see this post as irrelevant at this time! Timing is everything! #JusticeForUwa

Why not "PRAY FOR UWA" the young girl raped and killed in your church?. Then when you are ready for that press statement you are trying to perfect, you can release it. Why should pray for Adeboye today of all days???? Have some empathy na abeg.
