Following the spate of rape cases in the country, the Nigerian Senate has called on relevant agencies in the country to employ stringent punitive measures for rapists.
A motion forwarded by Senator Sandra Onu prompted the decision by members of the House.
The senator's motion was spurred by the recent rape and killing of 22-year-old Vera Omozuwa, which occurred in the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), in Edo State, where she had gone to read.
