Juventus have now announced that the Argentine international is expected to be out of action for 10 days.
"Di Maria underwent scans this morning ... which revealed a low-grade lesion of the adductor longus muscle of the left thigh," Juventus said on their website.
"The extent of the injury will be re-evaluated in 10 days."
Consequently, Di Maria has been ruled out of action for the clash against Sampdoria on Monday and is likely to be unavailable against Roma on August 27.
