Juventus new signing Angel Di Maria has been sidelined with a thigh muscle injury, and he is expected to be ruled out for some days.

Di Maria, who joined the club this summer on a free transfer from PSG, was impressive on his debut against Sassuolo before he was withdrawn just after the hour mark.

He scored the first goal for the Old Lady and then set up another in an eventful display.

Juventus have now announced that the Argentine international is expected to be out of action for 10 days.

"Di Maria underwent scans this morning ... which revealed a low-grade lesion of the adductor longus muscle of the left thigh," Juventus said on their website.

"The extent of the injury will be re-evaluated in 10 days."

Consequently, Di Maria has been ruled out of action for the clash against Sampdoria on Monday and is likely to be unavailable against Roma on August 27.

Juventus opened the 2022/23 Serie A campaign with a thumping 3-0 win over Sassuolo courtesy of goals from Angel Di Maria and Dusan Vlahovic's brace.
