Ronaldo's first season at the Italian top-flight competition, Serie A was not much enticing with him managing just 21 goals the lowest return in Europe top 5 leagues since 2008 when he scored 18 goals at Manchester United. It was a very good run that season given EPL toughness and to score 18 goals was considered then as a feat. The golden boot that year was given to Nicolas Anelka who scored 19 goals, just one more than Ronaldo.

The Portuguese international has returned this season back to his very best. He is in line now to win the Serie A top scorer award called Capocannoniere, which would mean he has collected the highest scorer award on three different countries; Spain, England, and now Italy.

Some critics would say most of his goals are from the penalty but the truth is, a penalty is from foul and most of the fouls were not even against Ronaldo. The 5 time Balon d'Or winner has only taken the advantage to increase his total goal haul.

His eternal rival, Lionel Messi also continues to ravage Spain winning the Pichichi award for the 7th time in his career also the first player to lead the scoring chart and assist chart with 20. These two phenomenon players are breaking records every day and we would continue to enjoy them till we can not anymore.
