Kaduna-Abuja Train Attack: Negotiator Tukur Mamu Apprehended

Tukur Mamu, the main negotiator between bandits and victims of the Abuja-Kaduna train attack, has reportedly been arrested in Cairo, Egypt.

According to Daily Trust, Mamu who was on his way to Saudi Arabia for lesser Hajj was apprehended along with his family members.

The arrest took place at the Cairo International Airport and Mamu will be repatriated back to Nigeria after being detained for 24 hours.

In a chat with the aforementioned news outlet on Tuesday, Mamu disclosed that he left Nigeria after being investigated by Egyptian authorities, with nothing incriminating found on him.

He is alleging that there is a plan by the Nigerian government to detain him in a foreign country as was done to Yoruba freedom fighter Sunday Igboho.

According to him, the plan did not work as the Egyptian government saw that his papers were genuine.

Per a Daily Trust report, Mamu withdrew from the negotiations after alleging that his life was being threatened and that he was being blackmailed by the government.
