Kaduna Auto Crash Claims 30 Lives, Vehicles Burnt

No fewer than 30 people have been reported dead following an auto crash along the Zaria-Kano expressway in Kaduna.

The accident which occurred on Thursday around 5:30 pm left vehicles burnt. 

According to eyewitnesses, the accident happened around the Hawan Mai Mashi in Makarfi local government area of the state. 

The incident was confirmed by the Assistant Corps Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Abdulrahman Yakasai. 

Yakasai said the accident involved two 18-seater Toyota vehicles and a Volkswagen golf. 

While reacting to the cause of the accident, he attributed it to overspeeding. 

He further revealed that the remains of the deceased have been evacuated to the Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital (ABUTH), Shika, Zaria morgue while those that sustained injuries are receiving medical attention at the same hospital. 

Yakasai added that the vehicles plate numbers were yet to be identified as the vehicles were burnt to ashes.
