Kaduna Police Command has deployed additional personnel to Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas of the state to prevent further violence.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Mohammed Jalige stated this in a press release issued late Tuesday night in Kaduna.
He said the deployment becomes necessary following attacks that left many dead and properties destroyed in Agban/Adan villages of Kaura local government on March 21.
The spokesman added that the personnel would prevent escalation of the crises that could emanate from reprisal attacks, saying the curfew imposed by the state government in the two local governments has helped in the containment of the attacks.
ASP Jalige affirmed that the acting Commissioner of Police, Kaduna Command, DCP Maiyaki Baba, had directed a full-scale investigation of the incident.
“The Commissioner of Police, while condoling the good people of the State, particularly families of those who lost their loved ones in the unfortunate incident, warns those inclined to cause trouble, to desist as the long hand of the law will catch up with them, “he said.
He called on communities to be law-abiding and comply with the curfew imposed as violators of the order would be made to face the consequences of their actions.
He explained that the curfew was not meant to punish anybody, but as a strategy to safeguard lives and property.
