Kaduna State Government has imposed a 24-hour curfew in Jema’a and Kaura Local Government Areas with immediate effect following unrests in the areas.

Attacks by militia groups on Sunday night have left 15 persons dead, while many houses were razed down at Agban Lagoro, Kaura Local Government Area.

According to a statement issued by the State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan, on Monday, said, the move is to assist the security agencies to stabilize the situation in the areas, save lives and property and enable the restoration of law and order.

It said that security agencies have full authority to enforce the curfew.

The government appealed to residents of Jema’a and Kaura local government areas to cooperate with the security agencies as they work to restore peace, law, and order in the areas.

Condemning the violence and all acts of lawlessness that have occurred in the area, the government sued for normalcy to return.

The Statement added that further updates will be issued as necessary.
