Kaduna Higher Institutions To Re-open Monday

Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education in Kaduna State, Phoebe Yayi says the government has asked higher institution in the state to re-open for academic activities on Monday, January 25th 2020.

Announcing the development in a statement on Sunday, Yayi revealed that schools in the state were asked to re-open after an assessment on the level of preparedness of the institutions.

 According to her, COVID-19 assessment team went round the institutions to monitor the compliance of institutions with the COVID-19 protocols.

It was discovered that the higher institutions were safe for learning.

She pleaded with the authorities of the higher institutions to ensure that students adhere strictly to all COVID-19 protocols put in place by the state government.

“All the measures, which have been assessed and confirmed to be in place, must be sustained, as any lapse or bridge will lead to the closure of the erring institution without notice," She warned.

Further revealing that schools in the state will resume in phases, she said :

“Resumption by all tertiary institutions will be in phases, as provided by the institutions and according to their academic levels and subject to their compliance with the guidelines in place.

“Unscheduled monitoring visits to schools across the state will be conducted by the task force team to ensure continuous compliance with the COVID-19 guidelines.”
