Kaduna Is Our Home, But We Have Some Problems - Kano Pillars

Lionel Emmanuel Soccoia, the technical adviser of Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) giants, Kano Pillars, has praised his players for the way they approached Sunday's encounter against Katsina United.

AllNews reports that the French tactician, at full time, expressed delight that his team 'played according to instructions'.

He said taking 3 points in such a highly-tensed game is vital for the team, and expressed hope that the team would achieve the set objectives for the season.

Meanwhile, he lamented that shuttling from Kano state to Kaduna state for home games is right now his main problem.

“Yes, Ahmadu Bello stadium is our home, but we have some problems of having no time train, because we are struggling from Kano to Kaduna," Coach Lionel stated.

The former FC Leopard of South Africa trainer has however shifted his attention to NPFL Matchday 3 - away to Nasarawa United of Lafia.

Lionel said the team will take it one game at a time.

Pillars continued their good start to the season after beating neighbours, Katsina United 2-0 in the ongoing 2020/21 NPFL season.

David Ebuka opened the scoring for the hosts in the 8th minute of the game after receiving a fine pass from Auwalu Ali Malam from inside the 16-yard box.

It was the first goal of the season for Ebuka, who tormented the Katsina United backline until he was subbed off towards the end of the encounter.

Captain Rabiu Ali made it 2-0 to the Sai Masu Gida in the 27th minutes of the game after he was put through by Yusuf Bala Maigoro from just outside the box.

The veteran and club legend has two goals from two games played so far for the club. His first goal came during the opening day of the season away to Adamawa United - a game that ended 1 goal apiece.
