At least seven militants/terrorists were killed in a recent Nigerian Army attack in Kaduna.

Allnews.ng gathered that on May 19, 2024, troops from the Nigerian Army's 1 Division stationed at a blocking position in Udawa, Kaduna, encountered the terrorists while performing a combat patrol along the Udawa-Kurebe Road.

During the fights, the military seized a variety of objects, including firearms, motorbikes, and charms.

According to a statement from the Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations for 1 Division Nigerian Army, Lt.-Col. Musa Yahaya, the soldiers discovered the terrorists during an aggressive patrol and engaged them in fierce gunfights.

The statement stated that five terrorists and violent extremists were killed during the clash in Udawa.

Yahaya also enumerated the things found during the operation, which included a pump-action pistol, six cartridges, an empty AK 47 rifle magazine, an MP3 radio, a phone battery, two Baofeng radios, two Baofeng radio chargers, four memory cards, two sim cards, and four charms.

He further said that on May 19, 2024, troops from the Division stationed at Sabo Birni in Kaduna State's Igabi local government stopped a suspected terrorist movement in the Baka region. The military quickly responded and confronted the attackers.

"In the firefight that ensued, the terrorists who could not withstand the superior firepower of the troops cowardly fled to nearby hills in disarray with several degrees of gunshot wounds.

“The troops exploited the general area and recovered one AK 47 rifle and two motorcycles while blood stains were seen all over the scene of the incident,” Yahaya said.

In the same vein, troops from the Division confronted terrorist elements and effectively executed two offenders while stationed in Kwaga village, Birnin Gwari local administration.

Meanwhile, the Nigerian military has announced Halilu Buzu, a citizen of Buzu in the Republic of Niger, is wanted for his alleged involvement in terrorizing Nigerians, especially in Zamfara state.

Edward Buba, spokesperson for the Defence Headquarters, DHQ, made the declaration during a press briefing held on Thursday in Abuja, detailing the military's ongoing operations.

According to Buba, the notorious suspected terrorist leader has reportedly taken refuge in Subbubu Forest within Shinkafi Local Government Area, LGA, of Zamfara state.

Furthermore, it was revealed that Buzu is believed to have established a base for illegal gold mining activities in Kawayi, located within the Anka LGA, where he reportedly employs numerous individuals to work under him.

According to Buba, the terrorist is also a prominent cattle rustler. He said the Buzu’s group had, last week, killed 19 villagers at Farar Kasa.
