Kaduna State Police Command witnessed a tragic incident on Sunday when three officers lost their lives in a car crash.
The incident occurred while the officers were returning from the Eid-El Fitr Hawan Daushe celebration in Zaria City.
According to sources, the accident occurred at around 9 pm when one of the tyres of a police vehicle burst in Sako village, Kidanda ward, Giwa Local Government Area of the state.
The deceased officers were identified as part of the police team that gave security during the celebration.
Meanwhile, three others sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital for medical attention.
Daily Trust also reports that it obtained gory pictures showing the officers in a pool of blood, with some of them having severe head injuries.
The spokesperson of the Kaduna State Police Command, DSP Mohammed Jalige, confirmed the unfortunate incident and expressed his condolences for the loss of the officers.
He also wished the injured a quick recovery.
