Kaduna To Start Delivering Medical Supplies With Drones

Governor Nasir El-Rufa'i

The Kaduna State government is set to begin delivery of medical supplies with drones in the state.

The delivery is set to commence in October, 2021.

Zipline - a company operating the largest medical drone supply had signed an MOU with the state government in February.

While briefing news men in Kaduna, Zipline's Operations Lead in Ghana, Mr Samuel Akuffo said the delivery will start from Pambegua.

Akuffo said, ‘’The project aims to deliver supplies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from three distribution centers – each equipped with 30 drones – and deliver to more than 1,000 health facilities serving millions of people across Kaduna State. “Bottlenecks like bad roads, expiry of products due to overstocking, unavailability of medical commodities at health facilities during emergencies and products not getting to remote areas, will all be minimized when Zipline’s facilities commence operations.’’

He further stated that the company is currently training personnels to speed up bringing the project to light.
