Kano Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero has asked the newly posted Assistant inspector general of police in charged of Kano/Jigawa, Ede Ayuba Ekpeji to do more to protect lives and properties.
The Emir made the called while receiving the new AIG who was at the palace on familiarization visit.
As contained in a statement signed by Chief Press Secretary Kano Emirate Council, Abubakar Balarabe Kofar Na'isa on Thursday, the Emir also advised him to be fair and just in the discharged of his responsibilities.
He assured his emirate council's absolute support to enhance security in Kano.
Earlier the newly appointed AIG, Ede Ayuba Ekpeji reiterated the police' resolve to maintain peace and order.
He also assured the emir that he would work tirelessly to eradicate the menace of drug abuse, especially in preparation for the forthcoming elections.
