Kano State Government has ordered the immediate closure of a private school, Noble Kids Academy, at Kwanar Dakata, where the body of a 5-year-old girl, Hanifa Abubakar who was kidnapped and later killed was found.

The Permanent Secretary, Kano Private and voluntary institutions, at the Ministry of Education, Dr Musa Abba Dankawu disclosed this in an audio obtained by AllNews in Kano.

He said: ”As a result of the incident that occurred at Tudun Murtala, Kwanar yan Ghana where a school teacher who was alleged to have kidnapped, killed and buried his pupil, we hereby order for the immediate closure of the school.

”We will give support to security agencies so that a discreet investigation be carried out on the matter,” he said.

The permanent secretary described the incidence as a breach of trust of the pupil, the parents of Hanifa, and the Kano State Government.

He stressed that Government would continue to survey and examine the teachers employed by private owned schools in the state to prevent further occurrence.

Hanifa Abubakar was abducted on December 4, 2021, at Kwanar Dakota by her teacher, AdulMalik Muhammad Tanko, on her way back from Islamic School.

Contrary to reports that she was kidnapped by her Islamiyya school teacher, she was kidnapped by her primary school teacher, who after attempts to use others to lure and kidnap her failed twice, decided to take her himself, whom from all indications, she trusted.
