Kano Government Reiterates Commitment To Better Education

The Kano State government through its visitation panel of tertiary institutions in the state has pledged to create effective machinery that will improve the conducive teaching and learning in the state's institutions.

The former Provost of Federal College of Education, Kano, and chairperson of the Kano State Tertiary Institutions Visitation Panel, Dr. Rabi Jibirilla made this known while leading members of the panel to an inspection to Yusuf Maitama Sule University.

Dr. Rabi told said the panel would do everything possible to ensure the provision of adequate facilities in the school.

She added that it would also look at all the problems and challenges bedeviling the university with the aim of ensuring effective service delivery.

She further acknowledged the commitment of the Vice-Chancellor for various achievements recorded under his leadership and solicited the support and cooperation of the university so as to discharge their duties effectively.

The Co-Chairman and Director General Research and Documentation Directorate, Alhaji Sageer Sadisu Buhari, commended Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje for his foresight to establish the panel.

He further stated that it was in line with the Government's commitment to ensure proper implementation of free and compulsory education in the state. 

Alhaji Sageer Sadisu Buhari assured the university that the panel would work hand in hand to move the institution forward, adding that the aim is for the universities in the state to compete with other universities across the country and world at Large.

In his remark, the Vice-Chancellor of the Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Professor Muktar Atiku Kurawa, described the establishment of the visitation panel as a welcome development, pledging to give all necessary support and cooperation to achieve better results. 

While outlining the achievements recorded so far in the University, the Vice-Chancellor acknowledged the support and cooperation of the Kano state Governor to the university.
