Kano: Governor Yusuf approves new appointments of aides, oth

Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved new appointments of Special Advisers and Heads of Agencies in State.

The governor's approval was conveyed on Tuesday in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.

He said: "In his efforts to place more capable hands to take Kano state to greater heights, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointments of additional Special Advisers and other heads of government agencies."

According to Dawakin Tofa, all the nine appointments take immediate effect.

The appointees include Professor Ibrahim Magaji Barde as Special Adviser on Internally Generated Revenue (IGR), (Dr) Abdulhamid Danladi as Special Adviser on Diaspora II and Engr. Bello Muhammad Kiru as Special Adviser on Water Resources.

Others are Yusuf Shuaibu Imam who was reappointed as Special Adviser on Youth and Sports and (Dr) Nura Jafar Shanono has also been moved from Special Adviser on Water Resources to the Managing Director, Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA).

Meanwhile the governor also approved the appointment of Baba Abubakar Umar from Special Adviser to Executive Secretary, Private and Voluntary Institutions Management Board.

The other heads of agencies appointed included Nasir Mansur Muhammad as Director General, Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs), Aminu Hamidu Bako Kofar Na'isa as Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Kano Agricultural and Rural Development Authority (KNARDA) while Engr. Mukhtar Yusuf was appointed Deputy Managing Director (DMD), Water Resources Engineering and Construction Agency (WRECA).
