Kano Court Grants Fagge Local Government Chairman Bail

A Kano State High Court Judge, Justice Jamilu Shehu Sulaiman has granted bail to Fagge Local Government Chairman, Ibrahim Shehi bail in a suit bordering on misappropriation of internally generated revenue.

Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) on Tuesday dragged the local government chairman to court on four count. He is being accused of dishing out 689, 000 to one Abdullahi Adamu and another Ibrahim the sum of 731, 000 as their shares from internally generated revenue.

He was also accused of giving tax collector, Abdullahi Adamu the sum of 399, 000 Naira and another sum of 338, 800 to the same as his share from the generated revenue.

The accused, Ibrahim Shehi pleaded not guilty to the four counts levelled against him, on Wednesday. The accused's lawyer, Ibrahim Nasarawa requested that his client be granted bail which the judge granted.

The presiding Judge then adjourned the matter to January 17, 2022 for further hearing.
