Kano hospital board distributes over N5 million worth of dru

The Kano State Hospital Management Board has allocated drugs and consumables valued at N5,317,387.50 naira to all secondary health facilities.

The executive secretary of the board Dr. Mansur Mudi Nagoda disclosed this while briefing journalists shortly after state commissioner for Health Dr. Abubakar Yusuf Labaran led the symbolic distribution of the commodities to some selected hospitals held in Kano on Tuesday.

Nagoda stated that the drugs and consumables are intended for direct use by patients in various health facilities, particularly for the care of accident victims and pregnant women, rather than being stored away.

He also cautioned Chief Medical Directors (CMDs), Chief Medical Officers (CMOs), facility executives, and staff against hoarding, selling, or diverting the supplied drugs for personal use.

They emphasized continuous monitoring of drug utilization to ensure adherence and maximum benefit to patients.

He then urged journalists to complete the present administration’s efforts in investigating healthcare facilities to monitor maximum usage and report any wrongdoing to the management for proper action.

The hospitals that received the drugs are Murtala Muhammad Specialist Hospital(MMSH), Sir Muhammad Sanusi General Hospital (SMSGH), Bichi General Hospital, Gwagwarwa Primary Healthcare, and Unguwa Uku Primary Healthcare.
