The Kano Electricity Distribution Company (KEDCO) has decried the incessant theft of power equipment at different locations in the state.
The firm's Chief Corporate Communications Officer, Ibrahin Sani Shawai disclosed this in a statement on Thursday in Kano, adding that the act causes serious loss and poor power supply to its customers.
“Those vandalising our equipment sneak into our transformers to steal cables, oil and other valuables.
“Such act exposes the general public and even the perpetrators to danger,” he said.
Sani-Shawa urged members of the public to report or apprehend such vandals and hand them over to the nearest security outfit in the domain.
He then appealed to members of the public to help in the protection of power formations in their domain.
