Kano May Host National Youth Game 2022 - Sports Minister To

Minister of Sports Sunday Dare has hinted that Kano will host next year's (2022) National Youth Game.

He dropped the hint when he paid a courtesy visit to the governor at his office, on Saturday, explaining that, adding that this will be the first time the Game will hold outside University setting. Kano being the first state to host it."

According to a statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor of Kano State, Abba Anwar, Dare informed the governor that he was in Kano to attend closing ceremony of Dala Hard Court.

According to him, 10,000 Nigerian youth will participate in the event, appreciating that, Kano state is fast gaining reputation in sports while being the centre of political articulation of the North at the same time.

The Minister applauded the governor for identifying with youth in the state and the nation as a whole, emphasising that, "I commended Kano for sending contingent to Ilorin and for attending Benin Sports Festival the other time."

In his response, governor Ganduje thanked the Minister for identifying with Kano.

"Let me start with the good omen you brought to Kano. That you are holding National Youth Game in the state next year 2022,” says Ganduje.

The governor assured the Minister that, Kano would provide an enabling environment for the forthcoming National Youth Game to hold successfully.
