Kano Mourns Death Of Longest Serving King Maker, Dr. Adnan M

Governor Abdullahi Umar Ganduje of Kano State has described late Kano Kingmaker, Sarkin Ban Kano, Dr Mukhtar Adnan, as a rare gem, a highly disciplined and a patriotic leader.

 

In a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Abba Anwar, Governor Ganduje said the nonagenarian passed away when Kano needed his foresight the most.

Part of the statement reads, “We received the death of this gentleman and a disciplined statesman with shock. Death is for all of us, the state and the country in general.

“We still appreciate the development he brought to the education sector when he was Commissioner of education, in fact, the first education Commissioner in the state.

“As a federal legislator who served at the National Assembly of the First Republic, Dr Mukhtar Adnan, was one of those politicians who shaped our democracy to its present state of development and survival.”

“It is at this juncture that I want, on behalf of the government and people of Kano State, to extend our condolences to his family. May Allah Bless him and Forgive him,” the Governor prayed.

Hundreds of people were in Bichi to pay their last respects to the traditional icon.

Hundreds witnessed the burial of the late kingmakerSarking Bai died in the early hours of Friday after a brief illness at the age of 95 and has since been buried according to Islamic rites.

The deceased has been buried according to Islamic rites
