Kano Set For Divorcees, Widows Mass Wedding — Commissioner

Dr. Zahra'u Muhammad

The Kano State Government has disclosed that plans to wed off divorcess and widowers in the state have reached an advanced state.

The State commissioner for Women Afairs, Dr. Zahra'u Muhammad disclosed this during the mass wedding program of 31 bachelors and spinsters organized by some non governmental organizations, and held at Sani Abacha Indoor stadium on Saturday.

She said Governor Ganduje's administration remains resolute in marrying off these eligible divorcess and widowers, adding that  the economic challenges emanating from the Covid-19 outbreak delayed the preparations.

However, she did not mention when the highly popularized weddings will take place.

She then urged the newly-wedded couples to obey and respect another, following closely the rules and regulations of marriage in Islam.

Dr. Zahra'u then appreciated the effort of FOMWAN AND DARUL ARQAM for organizing the event and called on other NGOs to emulate the gesture.
