Kante's Move To Al-Ittihad Hits Injury Roadblock

N'Golo Kante's highly anticipated move to Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad has hit a roadblock due to medical issues, according to a club source.

The 32-year-old French midfielder, a key figure in France's World Cup-winning squad, has a history of injuries and recently missed a significant portion of Chelsea's Premier League season due to a hamstring problem.

Al-Ittihad, based in Jeddah, confirmed that Kante had signed a binding agreement with the club.

However, they are meticulously scrutinizing the results of his medical tests before proceeding with the finalization of the deal. The club remains cautious due to Kante's injury-prone past and aims to make an informed decision before committing to a substantial contract.

The delay in Kante's potential transfer comes shortly after Al-Ittihad proudly unveiled another French football superstar, Karim Benzema, as their marquee signing.

The 35-year-old forward, crowned with the prestigious Ballon d'Or award, marked a significant milestone for the club. Benzema's arrival followed the high-profile move of Portuguese icon Cristiano Ronaldo, who joined Saudi side Al-Nassr earlier this year in a record-breaking deal worth over 400 million euros ($431 million).

According to a source close to the negotiations, both Kante and Benzema are among a list of approximately ten players who have been approached by Saudi officials regarding potential transfers. The country's growing interest in attracting top football talent is evident, as demonstrated by recent attempts to secure the services of prominent figures in the sport.
