Top-notch US rapper Kanye West has debunked claims that he has been paid to disrupt President Donald Trump’s re-election bid.
West who earlier endorsed Trump’s administration, later faulted it over its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
He had also declared that he was running for president, choosing Michelle Tidball, a Wyoming-based “biblical life coach”, as his running mate.
However, his decision to run for president was criticized, as many claimed that the “Ye” singer was paid by republicans to run a spoiler campaign against the president’s re-election bid.
However, debunking the claim, the rapper wondered why critics came up with such claims, as he noted that he is richer than Trump
Speaking on ‘Cannon Class’, a podcast by Nick Canon, an American rapper cum comedian, West said “Nobody is paying me. I got more money than Trump.”
Asked if he was serious about his presidential ambition, he said: “I am not running for president, I’m working.”
