The Executive Chairman of Karu Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Hon. James Thomas has appealed to residents of the area to shun violence before, during and after the Gubernatorial and State Assembly elections scheduled for Saturday March 18, 2023

Thomas made the call in a statement issued by his media aide, Danbaba Uba Magaji, on Friday.

He told residents that there is no election that is worth the blood of any citizen, while democracy and good governance can only thrive when there is peace and peaceful coexistence.

According to him, political differences must never cause hate and chaos among the people of the area and other Nigerians.

“We remain brothers and sisters in spite of our political differences,” the council boss stressed.

He urged politicians and political parties, opinion leaders, traditional rulers and parents to caution their wards and youths to desist from any acts of violence.

He also called on religious leaders and everyone to pray for a peaceful and successful election in the state and Nigeria at large.
