Universities in Katsina State have fixed October 23 and 24 for the resumption of lectures following the suspension of the eight-month strike by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).
The spokesperson of the Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA) in Katsina State, Malam Habib Umar-Amin, on Tuesday said the institution would resume lectures on October 23, 2022.
Umar-Amin added that the examination would commence on the same day.
According to the spokesman, necessary arrangements, including the protection of lives and property, have been made to commence a hitch-free second semester at the university.
Similarly, the state-owned university in the state, Umar Musa Yar’adua University (UMYU), said the lectures would commence on October 24, although the school reopened on Monday.
The Public Relations Officer of UMYU, Malam Abdulhamid Danjuma said the institution's management met with the deans and heads of departments to discuss the commencement of the new session.
Danjuma noted that the state government would ensure the security of all stakeholders of the university.
