Katsina: NAPTIP Rescues 150 From Traffickers

NAPTIP Reveals Most Endemic Human Trafficking Ports In Plateau

The National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP), Katsina Command says it rescued 150 victims in the month of April.

NAPTIP Katsina State Commander, Musa Aliyu disclosed this on Wednesday.

According to him, 115 are females and 35 males, within the age bracket if 18 to 36.

He said they were received from Nigerian Immigration Service, Libiya Border Command, Katsina.

The Commander explained that the victims originated from different geopolitical zones of the country.

“Investigation revealed all of them are victims, some recruiters are in the state of origin and the main suspects reside at the destination country.”

“The suspects have been identified and will be arraigned to court for prosecution.”

The Commander called on parents and all other stakeholders to be wary of the activities of human traffickers and strangers who deceived their children with fake promises.

He cautioned parents that the victims of Human trafficking are used for organ harvesting, rituals, illicit stage show, adultery, force labour and slavery.

He called on parents and members of the public in the state to report any case of human trafficking to NAPTIP, stating that their office is always open for receiving reports on Human Trafficking as reported by justice watch.
