KAYAN MATA: The Herbal Sexual Stimulant With Extraordinary Powers

The popularity of Kayan Mata was previously limited to women of Northern Nigeria. However, in recent times, the product transcends the North.

'Kayan Mata', when literally translated in the Hausa language means 'women items'. Historically, these items were used to prepare brides for a healthy sex life in marriage.

Kayan Mata refers to sexual stimulants/aphrodisiacs used to increase sexual pleasure between couples.

According to legitimate sources, these stimulants are gathered from completely natural sources such as roots, spices, herbs, and other natural ingredients such as honey. 

It has been claimed that the use of these aphrodisiacs facilitates sexual encounters, thereby safeguarding relationships.

In recent times, however, there have been other functions that Kayan Mata is claimed to perform. These functions have widened the market value and popularity of these 'women items'.

There are claims by vendors that Kayan Mata helps women gain monetary favours from men who have sexual intercourse with them.

According to some vendors, some of the Kaya Mata products, when used appropriately, secure men's loyalty to their wives or partners. Some vendors even claim that women who use these items have controlling powers over their men.

The above functions definitely differ from the historical purpose Kayan Mata is known to serve. This has generated a wide range of controversy which also revolves around the lives of the vendors of these products.

One of the popular vendors of Kayan Mata who has a wide range of followership on social media is Jaruma.

Jaruma became popular and controversial for marketing and selling these products. She has come under attack for breaking marriages by selling the items to unmarried women who go after rich married men.

If Kayan Mata is truly made up of herbs, roots, spices, and other natural ingredients, how possible is it for a bunch of herbs alone to possess supernatural powers, capable of compelling a man to be loyal or to break a home?

Indeed, it is understandable if it is capable of making the sex great in a relationship. However, to make a man completely within your control is what has made these claims highly controversial which a lot of people attribute to black magic.

AllNews media spoke with a Kaya Mata vendor about some of these functions as claimed by some other vendors. She was asked if truly these products can be more than just sexual stimulants. She answered in the negative and added that the Kaya Mata Products she sells are meant strictly for libido-boosting and sexual pleasure between partners.

She added that the products she sells are made up of natural ingredients such as Gorontulla, Dabinu, Tigernuts, and Honey that we all know.

"I pray not to suffer in this life talk more of in the afterlife," she said.

From her response,  it would seem that there are two kinds of Kaya Mata. Or perhaps there is a real and a fake. It could also be that the scope of Kaya Mata has widened to accommodate some supernatural infusions.

It is left for women to decide the version they would like to have if the need arises.
