The Kebbi State Government has confirmed the release of 30 students of the Federal Government College, Kebbi State who were kidnapped by bandits seven months ago.
According to DAILY POST, the Special Adviser on media to the Kebbi State Governor, Yahaya Sarki disclosed on Sunday that 30 students of the Federal Government College, Birnin Yauri and one teacher arrived Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State capital, following their release.
"They will undergo medical screening and support, before being re-united with their families," he said.
The bandits had kidnapped the students and staff members from the Federal Government College and demanded a huge sum of money as ransom.
On Saturday, however, the students and staff were released after spending seven months with their abductors.
