The Governor-elect of Kebbi State, Dr Nasir Idris has assured of improvement in the state's education sector under his administration.
Idris who is the President of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) gave the assurance while delivering his speech of appreciation after he was declared the winner of the election.
He added that he would give the sector an authentic and functional direction in the state.
He vowed to transform the education sector in Kebbi State, by providing state-owned schools with learning materials, facilities, and equipment.
"We shall ensure that the state is no longer listed among the states placing last in West African Examination Council, National Examination Council and National Business and Technical Examinations Board’s examinations.
“Teachers will get their reward here on earth before they get it from God in the hereafter,’’ he said.
