Kebbi: Governor Idris Receives, Extols Former Minister Of Ju

The Governor of Kebbi State, Nasir Idris, has received the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, at the Government House in Birnin Kebbi.

While receiving him on Sunday, the governor noted that the former Minister has played significant role in his political career.

Idris said that Malami has been an active participant since he joined politics and picking the nomination form for the governorship election. 

Yahaya Sarki, the new media aide to the governor, made this known in a statement on Sunday. 

According to Sarki, the governor appreciated Malami for facilitating the success of his political career. 

He further expressed joy that Malami had delivered on the mandate given to him by former President Muhammad Buhari with excellence, noting that he was the youngest person to occupy the position in the history of Nigeria.

The governor added that the former minister has remained good ambassador of the people of Kebbi State who has also complemented the effort of the government in uplifting the socio-economic wellbeing of the populace especially the less privileged through his philanthropy.

Idris also expressed his excitement that Khadimiyya, a Non-Governmental Organisation owned by the minister, has provided succour to communities of the state.

He prayed Allah to open more opportunities to the Minister to continue to serve humanity.

Speaking, Malami, described his visit as a special homecoming. 

He explained that the visit was to celebrate the governor whom he described as a friend and colleague over his victory at the polls and successful inauguration. 

The former Minister remarked that the governor has hit the ground running by starting on sound footing as evident in the appointment of the Secretary to the State Government who has the capacity and ability to deliver in office.

He added that the appointment of the pioneer All Progressives Congress (APC) State Chairman as the Chief of Staff to the Governor was worthy of commendation.

Malami further said that the people of Kebbi state had sent him on an ambassadorial errand for the past eight years and has returned home with good results.

He expressed appreciation to God for guiding him successfully in the discharge of his ministerial responsibilities, extending immense appreciation to Governor Idris and the people of the state for their support to him.

The former Minister reaffirmed his commitment to offer the necessary cooperation and advice to the governor in steering the affairs of the state.

The Governor, after receiving the Minister, proceeded to the Emir's palace where they paid homage to the Emir of Gwandu, Alhaji Muhammadu Iliyasu Bashar.
