Kebbi Governor, Nasir Idris has asked all political appointees by his predecessor to leave their positions as he appoints eight principal officers.
This was announced by the Governor's Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris, in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.
He said the governor appointed him and appointed a Chief of Staff, a Secretary to the State Government and a Personal Assistant.
Other appointments made by the Governor include a Special Adviser (New Media), a Senior Special Assistant (New Media), a Senior Special Assistant on Protocol, and a Special Adviser on Media and Publicity.
Idris explained that all appointments were based on merit and track records of the appointees, adding that the appointments took effect from May 29.
“The governor challenged the appointees to regard their appointments as call to service and to do their best to justify the confidence reposed in them,’’ he stated.
