Burna Boy recently sat with South African host Trevor Noah on the daily show in New York and they had a lot of things to discuss.
They discussed a variety of topics ranging from the release date for his new album and having his mother as a manager.
Burna BoyAllNews.ng has compiled the major points discussed on the show.
Trevor Noah wanted to know how the singer self-produced his Grammy award-winning album 'African Giant' during the 2020 coronavirus pandemic with different artistes.
Burna Boy revealed that most of the work was done via Zoom. Noah was confused as to how that worked and Burna said, “It’s not like Zoom has a recording studio. It was basically the laptop with all the parties involved and while we are making music and stuff, everyone was like “this is the song we have to choose.”
According to Burna, it feels weird to him working with some of his childhood legends because he had grown up watching them.
“Everyone on my last album was kinda... and the previous. Like working with Angelique Kidjo on the previous one and them working with Youssou N'Dour.
“These are people that I watched on TV when I was in pampers, you know?
"Like seeing them in real life and actually making music with them and getting the love. Sometimes it feels kind of weird because I'm like 'It's like my mom loves you.'"
Burna Boy's mother, Bose Ogulu, has been her son's manager from the start.
Speaking on how he bridges the gap between mum and manager, Burna Boy said their relationship is balanced.
He added that his mother has figured out other ways to make him do what she wants him to do.

“It's not all peaches and roses but it's a lot of food. So I mean that makes me happy enough.
“Well, I mean, you know what she does now? Like she used to do that and then that wouldn't work out for her because, you know, it's like, 'get me out'.
So she figured out some other way. She would make me feel like it's my decision.”
In a lighter mood, Burna called out Noah for not offering him anything to drink.
He said that the host only offered him chocolates, teas, and pretzels but he wants something that befits him.
“Let's talk about this. Why every time...? This is the second time I come here. You never offer me no drink.
"It's like you offer me chocolates and tea like I'm bugs bunny. I need a drink, man.

The 'Odogwu' singer was a bit evasive when Trevor asked about the release date of his sixth studio album.
He, however, gave a puzzling answer.
Burna said his album will be released on a day everyone celebrates for themselves when it's their own day.
“It’s going to come out on a day everyone celebrates for themselves when it’s their own day.
"It’s not what you do. It’s not everybody in the world that has a job you know. But this, everybody has it. Everybody has a day to celebrate.”
The closest answer to this will be one's birthday. So, could he be talking about his releasing the album on his birthday July 2?
