Kidnapping: 21 Abducted Children In Katsina Freed

The 21 children who were kidnapped by bandits on Sunday while working on a farm in Mairuwa community, Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State have been freed, according to the Katsina State Police Command.

The Katsina State Police Command's SP Gambo Isah made this announcement in a brief statement on Saturday night.

He claims that while investigations are ongoing, the victims, who consisted of 17 girls and four boys, have now been reunited with their respective families.

“It is with great joy that I announce the release of all the 21 abducted workers that were kidnapped while working in a farmland at Kamfanin Mai Lafiya village, Faskari LGA of Katsina state. They have been reunited with their families. The investigation is ongoing please,” the statement said.

The federal government was urged earlier on Friday by the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to assure the children's immediate release in a statement signed by Ms Cristian Munduate, who represents UNICEF

The kids were kidnapped on Sunday by bandits who claimed that the neighbourhood had not paid protection fees before beginning to harvest its agricultural output.
