King Charles Congratulates President Tinubu, To Build Strong

Following his swearing-in on Monday, President Bola Tinubu has been congratulated by King Charles III of the United Kingdom.

In his congratulatory message to the Nigerian leader, the monarch expressed willingness to build a stronger friendship between both nations.

While also felicitating the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, King Charles extended his warmest regards and sent his good wish following President Tinubu's assumption of office.

“Dear Mr President, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to you on your inauguration as President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and to send you every possible good wish as you assume the many responsibilities of your office.

“As Commonwealth partners with a deep bond, I look forward to building an even stronger friendship between our countries during your Presidency”, he stated.

Meanwhile, reactions have trailed the inauguration of the new dispensation, with aggrieved citizens airing their displeasure on Twitter.

For most of them, democracy was "murdered" on May 29, the day President Tunubu and Vice President Shettima were officially sworn in.
