King Charles III's Coronation: President Buhari To Grace Eve

President Muhammadu Buhari is set to attend the coronation of King Charles III scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 6, 2023.

The development is contained in a statement signed by the President’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina and issued on Wednesday.

According to the statement, Buhari will depart Abuja for London on Wednesday to join other world leaders who will also be present at the momentous occasion.

“Ahead of the coronation, the Commonwealth Secretariat will take advantage of the gathering of leaders in London to host a Commonwealth Summit for Presidents and Heads of Government of Commonwealth countries on Friday, May 5,” part of the statement reads.

It was also revealed that President Buhari will also take part in the Summit which will deliberate on the Future of the Commonwealth and the Role of the Youth.

King Charles became the British Monarch on September 8, 2023, after the death of his mother, Queen Elizabeth II.

President Buhari will be accompanied by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha; Minister of Foreign Affairs, Geoffrey Onyeama; Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed; the National Security Adviser, Maj-Gen Babagana Monguno (retd.); the Director General, National Intelligence Agency, Ahmed Abubakar; the Chairperson/Chief Executive Officer of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission, Abike Dabiri-Erewa and other senior government officials.
