'King Of Boys' 2: How Kemi Adetiba Disturbed Me Into Returning — Sola Sobowale

'King Of Boys' 2: How Kemi Adetiba Disturbed Me Into Returni

King of Boys: The Return of the King star Sola Sobowale has disclosed that she was initially skeptical about reprising her role for the sequel, adding that director Kemi Adetiba pressured her until she gave in.

The Nollywood veteran made the disclosure in an interview with Pulse where she stated that she was surprised when Adetiba told her about plans for a sequel.

"I said, 'I thought we touched all corners. I thought we turned all the stones. So, what are you writing again?' Then she went, 'Aunty Sola, you have to do this.'

"Kemi was calling every day. Without even seeing the script, Kemi put panic in me. I said, 'What am I going to do again? How am I going to supersede the previous one?"

Sobowale said that since the first King of Boys had set the bar high, she wondered how Kemi Adetiba hoped to make something even better than that. That was when the star demanded for the script.

"This Return of the King, I know that it has taken me to another level completely", she continued. "People will see this and see another Sola Sobowale.

"...Kemi Adetiba created an empire and she made every one of us work and operate in another frequency. That is what Kemi Adetiba did."

King of Boys: The Return of the King is currently streaming on Netflix. It continues the saga of Eniola Salami's quest for power amid renewed opposition and threats to her return.
