Klopp Optimistic About Victory For Liverpool Against Arsenal At Anfield

Klopp Optimistic About Victory For Liverpool Against Arsenal

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp says he has a "good feeling" that his team will come out on top against Arsenal in the Premier League this weekend.

Both teams are billed to trade tackles on Sunday with the stakes being high.

The Reds desperately need a win to get their season back on track while league leaders Arsenal can't afford to stumble in the final chapter of the league.

Although Liverpool are winless in their past three league games since thumping Manchester United 7-0, the goalless draw with Chelsea on Tuesday at least ended their losing run.

This leaves them sitting in eighth position in the league, 10 points adrift of the Champions League places.

Speaking on upcoming opponents Arsenal, Klopp says: “It’s still Anfield, we’re at home and we still have to show a reaction and an improvement.

"It [Anfield] is not the only thing we should rely on.

“But it is no secret that the combination of our people, the ground and the boys is pretty good.

"That is what we have to throw in, but not rely on it.

“I have a very good feeling we can do it.”

The German coach however noted that he's wary of Arsenal while acknowledging that the Gunners have been "impressive" this term.

"They are a different team," Klopp said of Arsenal who have nine finals left from being crowned champions.

"Mikel has been building for a few years now and the outcome is pretty impressive.

"Really good football, top players and good match plans.

"It's a mix of really good football and extreme emotions.

"It is a good way to play. I know people ask for time for managers but I really think Mikel deserved each minute he got there when things weren't going well.

"The team is very well set up, good transfers on top of that but a really stable team. That's what they're using now."

While Klopp's team has become a shadow of itself, the last six Premier League meetings between the Reds and the Gunners at Anfield have all been won by Liverpool.
