Kano COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus (KN-CARES) says it rehabilitated 21 feeder roads of 90 kilometres across 18 local governments in Kano State to aid the transportation of farm produce.
This was contained in a letter sent to the Ministry of Information by the Head of Delivery Platform, Kano- CARES project, Rufa'i Halilu Ahmed.
In a statement by the Director Special Duties, Ministry of Information Kano, Sani Abba Yola on Wednesday, Halilu Ahmed stated that the project which was supported by the World Bank in collaboration with the Federal and State Governments was aimed at restoring the livelihood of the poor and vulnerable, as it also aims at ensuring food security.
He said about 988 farmers from 18 local governments in the state benefited from the crop inputs and services, while 100 farmers benefited from petrol-powered water pumps.
The Head of Delivery added that the project distributed Agricultural assets to 882 farmers and rehabilitated 23 Wet Markets in 23 local Governments in the state.
Ahmed explained that major achievements were also accomplished by Governor Ganduje administration under the Kano Care project of the state Fadama Cares Delivery.
