Kogi Correctional Service Arrests Officer Over Missing Rifle

The Controller of the Kogi State Correctional Center, David Igbago has ordered for the immediate arrest of an officer of the service who is allegedly connected to the missing of two rifles and some ammunition.

This was contained in a statement by the spokesperson of the Corrections, DCS Nihi Sesan on Wednesday in Abuja. 

However, the statement did not mention the identity of the suspect. 

The statement further explained that the suspect was undergoing administrative checks before handing him over to relevant security outfit for proper investigation.

According to the statement, a routine monthly audit revealed that the items were missing from the command's armoury.

The command's spokesperson added that the correctional service will follow through until it unravels how the criminal act was perpetrated.

The controller further reiterated commitment towards securing the Kogi State correctional facility while discharging his constitutional duties.
