Kogi: New Permanent Secretary Reiterates Commitment To Work

New Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Commerce and Industry Salifu Ameh, has reiterated his commitment to work hand in hand with staff members at all levels, to ensure progress.

Ameh stated this on Tuesday during his introduction at the office of the Hon. Commissioner in Lokoja, Kogi State.

He expressed gratitude to the Hon. Commissioner for providing an environment that will allow him to function properly, citing that he has always been fortunate to be in a position of leadership.

"For this to continue, there is a need to proffer solutions to issues preventing staff members from carrying out their assignments.

“I have always hoped to work with someone vast in Administration, and this benefit will be for everyone. Synergy is very important in any organization & I expect this from all Directors. Whatever problem you have, please don’t be reluctant to bring it forward, so we can solve it together.

“My aim is to leave a positive footprint where ever I step into. And we will achieve this by the special Grace of God.

The State Commissioner Hon. Yunusa Gabriel Olofu, in his welcome address, stated how vital it is to initiate discipline as there are rules and regulations to follow in the service.

“Transfers like this are necessary in order to initiate new ideas, new direction, and new objectives.

“It is vital for any organization to experience change, in order to grow…and discipline is very important, in order to move forward.

“I want you to put your searchlight on every dept, to ensure optimal performance.

“You’re going to have a nice stay here, because myself and all Directors are ready to work with you in any capacity, to ensure a smooth service year…and I believe, with our cooperation, you will perform at your highest level,” Olofu said.
