The 10th edition of the Luxor African Film Festival holds in Cairo today and is meant to be a celebration of imagination and creativity from all over Africa.
The 2021 edition of the event that started ten years ago is dedicated to the late Egyptian actor Mahmoud El Meligy, Tunisian filmmaker Nejib Ayed, Moroccan filmmaker and author Noureddine Sail, and Sudanese actor Al-Hadi Al-Siddiq.

Taking to his Instagram page on Friday, Kunle Afolayan posted pictures of his identification as a jury member, along with a booklet with a write-up about him and his latest movie Citation.
The Nigerian director's inclusion in the film festival comes as no surprise given his achievements in the film industry. His works have continued to gain more and more viewership, and some of his best movies are currently streaming on Netflix.
The 2021 Luxor Film Festival also pays tribute to the iconic Malian director Cheick Oumar Sissoko, whose film Guimba won special jury prizes at the International Film Festival of Locarno.
