Kwara Chief Judge Grants Amnesty To 46 Inmates

 

The Kwara state Chief Judge, Justice Sulyman Kawu, on Wednesday, granted amnesty to 46 inmates at Mondala and Oke-Kura correctional centers in the state.

The chief judge during his visit to the correctional centers said 18 inmates were granted freedom while the other 28 inmates were released on bail.

Kawu urged the inmate to go and enjoy the freedom and at the same time desist from criminal activities.

He advised those released on bail to always go for their trial, be patriotic, law-abiding, and useful to the society and Nigeria in general.

Mr. Adebisi Francis, State Controller of Correctional Service, commended Gov. Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq and the chief judge for exercising their prerogative power as enshrined in Section 212 of the Constitution.
