Kwara Community Bans Okada Operators Over High Charges

A community near Airport road in Ilorin, the Kwara State Capital, has banned Okada riders due to high charges by operators.

The community on Saturday said the high charges has created serious hardship for the people living in the area.

A resident simply identified as Ola said that all drops within the community should be fifty naira due to the size of the community.

He wondered at the sudden increase as the distance covered within the community is not too far, adding this is an act of extorting the masses.

"As we appreciate the authorities of the community for their timely intervention in the situation, maintaining peace in the area, we plead with the president of the community Okada riders to consider the less privileged masses and stand with the community leaders for peace and love to reign," he said.

The community authority has directed the president of the Okada operators in the community to urgently react on the development.
