Kwara Government Declares Wednesday Work-Free For Teachers

The Kwara State Government has declared Wednesday, as work-free day for teachers in all primary and secondary Schools in the state.

A statement by the Press Secretary state’s Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development Peter Amogbonjaye said the gesture was to allow all the teachers in the state celebrate teacher's day.

October 5 of every year has been declared World Teachers Day by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation.

The statement noted that the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education And Human Capital Development, Mary Adeosun, made the decision of the state government known in her office on Tuesday.

“Adeosun applauded His Excellency, Governor AbdulRaman AbdulRasaq, for the tremendous achievements scored in improving the standard of living of Teachers in public secondary schools in the state.

“She advised teachers across the state to reciprocate the kind gesture by being diligent in discharging their duties,” the statement said.
