Kwara Government Restores Damage Dam Pipe

The Kwara State Ministry of Water Resources stated that the damaged major pipe from Asa Dam waterworks, which impeded the supply of water to certain locations in the Ilorin metropolis, has now been fixed. 

A statement by the Commissioner of Water Resources, Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje, on Tuesday said seamless water supply resumes as the repair works have been completed.

Recently, the State government, announced the cessation of water supply to some areas in Ilorin after a damage to the big pipe following a downpour that wreaked to the facility.

Agbaje said the seamless supply of water to these areas has resumed as the repair works on the pipe have been completed.

He commended Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for his support that resulted in the timely resolution of the issues, and thanked the people in the affected areas for their calmness, cooperation and patience. 

The areas affected were Zango, Taiwo Oke & Isle new line, head office new line, Kwara Hotel, Balogun Fulani new line, Emir's Road new line, Opomalu new line, Forestry road GRA, Plantation Road GRA, Onikanga road GRA, Amuro Crescent, Jani close GRA, AbdulRazaq road GRA, Abdulkadir road GRA, Iyeru Okin street, Awolowo road.

Others included CBN quarters road, Pipeline road, Olododo Street off Pipeline road, Ola Olu area, Winner Express, Gbenle Printing Press, Station road, ITC, Gaa Imam, New Yidi Road, Sakama road new line, Gbodofu old line, Flower Garden, Shoprite, Offa garage, and Alegbede area.
