Kwara Governor AbdulRazaq Emerges NGF Chairman

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq of Kwara State is the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF).

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo is also the new Vice Chairman of the forum.

Abdulrazaq replaces Governor Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto whose less than eight-month tenure ends on May 29.

Abdulrazaq (APC) and Makinde (PDP) were chosen through consensus.

The emergence of the new leaders came after the 7th emergency meeting of the governors held on Tuesday (May 23) night in Abuja.

The communiqué of the meeting reads in part: “On the leadership of the Forum, the Governor of Kwara State, Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, emerged the new Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum through a consensus, and the
“Governor of Oyo State Seyi Makinde is now the vice chairman.
