Kwara Hajj inaugural flight rescheduled, date revealed

The first flight of the Kwara State Hajj operation will take off on Tuesday, May 21, 2024, according to the state Muslim Pilgrims Board.

The board's Executive Secretary, Abdulkadir Abdulsalam, stated on Sunday that the inaugural flight, initially set for Monday, May 20, 2024, was postponed due to changes in the initial plans of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria.

"Pilgrims from Kwara had initially been scheduled to have their first flight on Monday, May 20, 2024.

“What this change means is that our pilgrims should not come to the camp today again as earlier announced. They should come tomorrow, Monday 20, ahead of their inaugural flight on Tuesday at 10:20 am. This affects only the intending pilgrims whose names were earlier scheduled for the inaugural flight.

“Further information will be released to guide all our pilgrims and the general public. While this slight change is regretted, it is totally out of the control of the state pilgrims board or any local authorities,”the statement reads.

3,102 Pilgrims from the state are billed to perform the 2024 Hajj.
