Kyari Reacts To Death Of Buhari's Chief of Staff From COVID-

The Group Managing Director, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari has prayed for forgiveness and mercy upon Abba Kyari, the Chief of Staff (CoS) to President Muhammadu Buhari who died from the Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Friday.

Allnews reports that Abba Kyari died aged 82 (some reports say in his 70s) after battling COVID-19 for some weeks.

The president’s right-hand man on March 24 tested positive for COVID-19. He was subsequently moved to a private facility within Nigeria, with family sources maintaining he was responding “very well” to treatment.

However, on Friday evening, multiple persons in government announced the CoS' exit via their known Twitter handles.

Garba Shehu, the Official Spokesperson to President Buhari (SSA, Media and Publicity); Femi Adesina, the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to President Buhari; Ajuri Ngelale, the Senior Special Assistant To President Buhari on Public Affairs, et al, all tweeted the news.

Mele Kyari, who had been rumoured to be a relation of Abba Kyari (although rumour untrue) took to his verified Twitter page early Saturday morning to offer his condolences.
